Among First-Place Finishers

SEPT. 9, 2013 – Bowlers from New York City USBC, Tri-County NY USBC, Syracuse USBC, Hornell USBC and Fulton USBC WBA captured age classification titles at the 33rd NYS Women’s Senior Singles Championships.

The tournament took place on Aug. 16-18, 23-25 at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego. All but 44 of the 576 entrants participated in the six-game handicap tournament.

Champions, who now qualify to receive free entries to the 2014 USBC Senior Championships in Reno, Nev., are as follows:

Class AA, 75-and-up – Donna Williams, Hornell USBC, 1,365.
Class A, 70-74 – Donna Spicer, Fulton USBC WBA, 1,380.
Class B, 65-69 – Kathy O’Melia, Tri-County NY USBC, 1,419.
Class C, 60-64 – Dorice Bradley, New York City USBC, 1,493.
Class D, 55-59 – Joy Blair, New York City USBC, 1,325.
Class E, 50-54 – Susan Minasian, Syracuse USBC WBA, 1,404.

(July 20, 2014) – Brian LeClair of Albany, N.Y. defeated Bill O’Neill of Langhorne, Pa., 277-236, to win the Professional Bowlers Association Homefield Bowl Eastern Open presented by MOTIV at Homefield Bowl Sunday and claim his 16th career PBA Regional title along with a $2,500 first prize.
