Adams and Rider Set the Tone on the Last Day

Yorkville, NY October 24, 2021 – Today was the final day at the 43rd Annual NYS Open Senior Championships, 336 bowlers competed over four days. Steve Chernaik of Bainbridge provided some excitement in the first squad rolling a 298 the last game.
Chuck Adams of Illion was the star in squad two rolling 255, 226, 266 for a 747 series. He took over first place Class E Singles. While Michael Domicolo of Oswego shot 256, 246, 234 for a 736 series to claim first place in B Singles. Jerry Rider of Albany also had a hot hand, 246, 236, 247 for a 726 series jumping to first place in Class A Singles.
Other top scorers were: Jamie Willey of Jamestown 259-701; Larry Pschera of Kennedy 237-684; Randy Smith of Bainbridge 256-693; Charles Pitts of Cortland 279; Ray Cyr of Whitesboro 266-724; Dennis LaFontaine of Katskill Bay 278; Joe “Flash” Gordon of Schenectady 222; and Michael Tryniski of Fulton 269.
The tournament which ran over two weekends, consists of 3 events – doubles, singles and six-game combine. Averages, scores and divisions will need to be reverified by the tournament manager before the official results are posted. Final results and prize list will be posted within 30 days. Winners in each division for the six-game combine will received a paid entry for the 2022 USBC Senior Championships at a site to be determined later.
