Billington Comes Out Firing in Day 3 of Senior Open Championship

Yorkville, NY October 23, 2020 - Day three of the 43rd Annual NYS Open Senior Championships was the busiest so far as 115 bowlers hit the lanes over two squads. Daniel Billington of Glens Falls hit the ground running in the first squad of the day, rolling 258, 233, 279 for a 770 series.
Brandon Miller of Jamestown shot a high game of 269 en route to a 706 series. He teamed up with Thomas Volpe, also from Jamestown, who rolled a 245 high game and 638 series to take over the lead in Class D Doubles with a 1445 total with handicap.
Jon Knott of Castleton had a good day rolling a 517 series which was 75 pins over his average. That shot him into first place in Class C Singles.
Keith Garceau of Rochester rolled 243, 216, 244 for a 703 series in doubles, he singles he shot 664 to move into first place in Class C Combine.
The tournament which runs over two weekends, consists of 3 events – doubles, singles and six-game combine. The champions in the six-game combine event will paid entry to the 2022 USBC Senior Championships.
There are more squads tomorrow, October 24 at 2:30 PM and 5:00 PM at AMF Vista Bowling Center in Yorkville. Please note the 12:00 Squad tomorrow, October 24 is all sold out.
Walk-ons are accepted in each squad if space permits, each event is $30 per bowler with and optional 6-game combine for $10. You can bowl doubles only, singles only or both doubles and singles.
