Bowling Centers Must Close at 10:00 PM
Date Posted: November 13th, 2020
Albany, NY November 13 - On Wednesday, November 11 New York Governor Andrew Cuomo issued a new Executive Order requiring any business with a State Issued Liquor License to close from 10:00 PM - 5:00 AM. The order, which goes into begins on Friday, November 13, includes not only bars and restaurants, but bowling centers and gyms as well.
The New York State Bowling Proprietors Association (NYSBPA) did reach out for clarification from Governor Cuomo's office and they said bowling centers must close in their entirety by 10:00 PM. They asked if the center closed the bar and concession could the centers stay open, and they were told no.
While this order is set to expire on December 12, it's believed the order will be extended at that time. Center owners and managers are encouraged to speak with their league officers to see what adjustments can be made to make sure the leagues are finished by 10:00 PM.
NYSUSBC and NYSBPA will continue to monitor this situation and advise if there are any changes. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the NYSUSBC (bowlnysusbc@gmail.com or (845) 363-1374). You can also contact your local Department of Health or elected officials.
