Paul Bajorski capped-off a long day at Herrill Lanes at the top of the list to capture his first NYS Masters Title. 131 bowlers descended on New Hyde Park for one of the largest turnouts in recent years.
NYS Masters and Queens Highlight Spring Tournaments

There is still time to enter all the New York State USBC Tournaments which begin with the Masters March 3 at Herrill Lanes in New Hyde Park. The Queens will be held at Flamingo Bowl in Liverpool on April 22, Women’s Championships will be held at AMF Strike n’ Spare beginning April 1 and the Open Championships will also begin on April 1 at Bowl-A-Roll Lanes in Rochester.

Four Elected to USBC Hall Of Fame for 2023

The USBC Hall of Fame will welcome four new inductees at their annual meeting in April, including Rochester Native Mike Rose Jr. for Outstanding Performance. Joining him will be Jill Webber of Burlington, Wisconsin also for Outstanding Performance, Ron Mohr of Las Vegas in the Veterans category and Jamie Brooks of Fort Worth, Texas, in Meritorious Service.
NYS Hall of Fame Member and Long Time Proprietor Passed Away

Peter M. Sheridan, 80, of Cortland, NY passed away on January 4, 2023 at UHS Wilson Medical Center, Johnson City, NY. Peter was born October 27, 1942 son of the late Dr. Gerald and Helen F. Sheridan. Peter started working at Recreation Alleys till 1990 when he started purchasing the business, where he worked until his retirement in 2006. Pete made many friends over the years at the lanes. Some of his proudest moments were hosting senior PBA regional tournaments for 8 years.
USBC Hall Of Famer Dave Davis Dies at Age 80

United States Bowling Congress and Professional Bowlers Association Hall of Famer Dave Davis of Lake Placid, Florida, died Dec. 29 at the age of 80.
Davis was elected to the PBA Hall of Fame in 1978 and USBC Hall of Fame for Superior Performance in 1990 as one of the sport’s most dominant players through the 1960s and 1970s.
Former NYS WBA Manager Nancy Walczyk Passes Away

Former New York State Womens Bowling Association Manager and recipient of the 2014 Helen Baker Award from the United States Bowling Congress, passed away on Saturday (Dec. 17, 2022) after a brief illness. She was 79.
Online Registration Now Available for All NYS Adult Tournaments

The New York State USBC has opened the Online Registration portal for the upcoming spring tournaments. Team Captains can sign-up, manage and pay for their teams online if they choose. The office will still accept paper applications which need to be mailed to the association office with the appropriate fees.
